Physical activity plays an important role in health, well-being and quality of life, and is particularly important for children and youth. Its benefits include healthy growth and development, better focus, stronger heart, bones, healthier muscles, improved self-esteem, and the reduction of stress and anxiety.

According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, children aged 5-11 should accumulate (doesn't have to be done all at once!) at least 60 minutes of moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity daily, including vigorous-intensity activities at least 3 days per week.
